About #MYCyberSale

MyCyberSale, which takes place from the Sep 28 – Oct 2, 2015 is a Malaysian online shopping campaign initiated by the government and spearheaded by MDeC (Multimedia Development Corporation). It aims to boost everything eCommerce and also heighten Malaysia’s online shopping culture. Lauded as our nation’s first and largest cyber sale with the participation of 4,500 merchants from 250 E-marketplaces, MDeC targets that this campaign will attract 100,000 shoppers that will equate to RM50 million in sales.

As Malaysia’s eCommerce industry is expected to balloon to RM72.3 billion by 2015, MDeC also hopes that this campaign will act as a catalyst for change for 70% of the small to medium sized entreprises in Malaysia that do not yet possess an online presence.

The MyCyberSale campaign is approved and governed by our Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism (MDTCC). They are tasked with managing and regulating the eCommerce Act and buyer protection while MDeC governs regulations surrounding communications and multimedia. The code of conduct, security, and trust of this campaign is governed by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

All participating merchants must not only be registered with MDeC but also undergo a strict vetting and approval process.
